What are Precoded Clips?

WP Clips includes a core Clip and custom Clip for editing on the fly. However, it can also accept Precoded Clips. Precoded Clips contain finished customizations or code snippets, and multiple Precoded Clips can be installed, activated, unclipped or deleted at any one time.

Precoded Clips are built according to strict coding conventions, and are designed for convenient hand-over of developer customizations to clients or for inclusion in ClipBankâ„¢.

Note: Precoded Clips can be installed, updated and managed from ‘WP Clips Manager’ under Settings > Clips in WordPress admin or via FTP (or file manager). They are not intended for editing, but can be customized with the custom Clip if necessary.

Installing Precoded Clips

To install or update a Precoded Clip:

  1. Download the Precoded Clip zip file.
  2. Go to Settings > Clips in WordPress admin and install via ‘WP Clips Manager’; OR unzip and upload via FTP (or file manager) to the wp-content/clips/precoded/ directory.
